Steps

First of all prepare all the ingredients. In a saucepan add water and keep it on medium flame. Add crushed ginger and bring it to a boil.

Add coarsely ground cinnamon, black peppercorns, cardamom and cloves to it. Add holy basil(tulsi) and turmeric. Add ajwain leaves /seeds (crushed by hand).

Add jaggery and mix everything well. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes on law flame. You can add honey instead of jaggery.

Add lemon juice and take it off. Strain the kashayam and serve hot. Ginger Kashayam is ready.
