Jeera rice and dal tadka

Add basmati rice,clean well and soak for ten minutes.

Keep a pressure cooker and add two tablespoons of ghee, cumin seeds, and saute for a few minutes, add soaked rice, water and salt.Mix well and close the lid. Keep for two whistles.

After pressure releases,open and mix the rice and transfer to a serving bowl.Tasty jeera rice is ready to serve.

Take a bowl, add turmeric dal and masoor dal, wash well with plain water,add to the cooker,add two cups of water,cook for three whistles.

Keep a kadai on medium heat, add ghee, jeera, asfetida powder,chopped onion, red chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and curry leaves. Saute for a few minutes.

Then add the cooked dal, and salt. Let it boil for five minutes, remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl.sprink some chopped coriander leaves. Dal tadka is ready to serve.
