Creamy Tomato Penne with Pork and Basil
A hearty and comforting pasta dish with tender pork mince, a rich tomato-cream sauce, and fresh basil, finished with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan. Perfect for a dinner for 3 to 4 people.
Steps
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook for 8 minutes, or until al dente.
- 2
In a large saucepan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- 3
Add the pork mince to the pan and cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and a splash of reserved pasta water.
- 4
Stir in the cream, basil, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for another 1–2 minutes to blend the flavors.
- 5
Add the cooked penne to the sauce and mix well. Cook together for 3–4 minutes to allow the pasta to absorb the flavors.
- 6
Plate the pasta and top generously with grated Parmesan cheese.
