Steps

Smear the Katla fish pieces with salt, turmeric and keep aside.

Heat mustard oil in a pan.

Once the oil is hot fry the Katla fish pieces by flipping each side till both sides turn golden brown in colour.

Remove from the oil and keep aside.

Now grind mustard seeds and garlic cloves with little water to form a paste.

Now in the same oil add nigella seeds and methi seeds.

Once they become aromatic and splutter add the prepared mustard paste to the pan.

After 2 minutes, add the chopped tomatoes.

Now add coriander powder,turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and cook till oil separates from the kadai.

Now add water and.aamchur powder. Then add the fried Katla fish pieces to it and let it come to a boil.

Remove from the stove and serve hot with steamed white rice.
