Sundal is made in different styles in various parts of Maharashtra during Ganeshotsav and I made with Chickpeas- it’s a very nutritious and flavourful offering to Bappa!

Soak Chickpeas overnight and discard water. Wash and add to preside cooker with 1-2 cups water. Boil adding 1 tsp salt and for 5 whistles on medium flame. Discard water and set aside

In a wok heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and let mustard seeds splutter, Whole red chilli and add Urad dal, Chana Dal, and stir, add curry leaves and stir for 1 mins on medium flame

Add boiled chickpeas and stir well, add salt but remember that earlier salt was added to boil chickpeas, add grated coconut and stir well

Plate and enjoy a healthy Prasad for Bappa this Ganesh Chaturthi
