Ingredients

  1. 1. 1 Chicken -skinned and jointed
  2. 2. 2 Tablespoon oil
  3. 3. 2 Ground onions
  4. 4. 1.5 Tablespoon roasted, ground fennel seed
  5. 5. 1 Large tomatoes skinned, deseeded and chopped
  6. 6. 2 Cloves
  7. 7. 2 Large cardamoms
  8. 8. 350 ml water

  1. 1

    Fry the chicken in hot oil for 5 min to seal.Remove from sauce pan.

  2. 2

    In the same oil, saute onions until golden brown in colour.

  3. 3

    Add the chilli powder, fennel seeds and ginger powder.

  4. 4

    Stir well and season with salt.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes to the sauce pan.

  6. 6

    Stir in cloves and cardamoms.

  7. 7

    Cook for 5 minutes before adding water.

  8. 8

    Bring to boil.Return chicken to the sauce pan and simmer over a gentle flame until tender.

  9. 9

    Strain the juices and serve the chicken.
