Gather the necessary ingredients and place them near the cooking area.

Heat sesame seed oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves. Add chopped garlic and ginger. drumsticks and sauté briefly. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté for 2 minutes.

Roast spices fenugreek, coriander, dried chilies and chana dal until aromatic. Grind roasted spices with fresh coconut and a little water to make a smooth paste.

Add coconut-spice paste, turmeric, salt, and tamarind to the pan. Mix well. add cooked toor dal. Pour in water, bring to a boil, then simmer until drumsticks are tender. adjust salt and serve hot.

Gr4anish with cilantro. Transfer to a serving bowl. you may mix with rice and 2tbsp ghee. It tastes divine. Sambar goes well with dosai, idli, chapathies and parantha
Tips
For extra flavor, let the sambar rest for 10 minutes after cooking so the spices blend well. You can also garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
