Dal Bati Churma

In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, semolina, baking soda and salt. Mix everything well and gradually add water. Make a medium soft dough. Divide a small portion for churma. Add ajwain and cumin seeds for rest of dough for bati. Rest for 30 mintues.

Soak all the dal for 15 mintues. Then in a pressure cooker add soaked dal, water, turmeric powder, salt and ghee. Come 2 or 3 whistle then off the gas.

In a kadai add oil, when oil becomes medium hot add chopped ginger garlic, saute 2 seconds add chopped onion. Fry until the onion becomes golden brown. Now add tomato puree and salt. Cook for 3-4 mintues.

Add all spices, saute for 2 minutes, add boiled dal. Cook it 3-4 mintues. In a tadka pan add oil, heat oil medium hot add red chilli, cumin seeds and red chilli powder. Now add this tadka into the dal.

Make medium size balls, Heat a pan or pressure cooker then grase ghee place the bati. Fry both side for 2 mintues then add ghee above the batis and cover the pressure cooker or pan bake batis for 30 mintues.

For churma in a mixer grinder jar add 2 batis and grind it. Then in a mixing bowl add grinded batis, sugar or jaggery powder and chopped dry fruits. Mix well everything.
