Ingredients

  • 1 cupGram flour
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 tablespoonRed chilli powder
  • 1/2 tablespoonCoriander powder
  • 1/2 tablespoonCumin powder
  • 1/2 tablespoonMango powder
  • 1 pinchAsafoetida
  • 1/4 tablespoonGaram masala
  • 1/4 tablespoonmethi Kasoori
  • 1/2 tablespoonMint powder
  • 1 numberOnions (sliced thinly)
  • 4 numbersSpring onions (sliced thinly)
  • 1 numberGreen chilli (finely chopped)
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • to tastesalt Black

Steps

  1. 1

    Take the gram flour (besan) in a big bowl and add all the dry spices to it. Mix well and add water to make a paste. The paste must not be too thick or too runny.

  2. 2

    Add all the onions and green chilli to the mixed paste and mix well again.

  3. 3

    Heat oil on high in a deep pan. When hot, turn the flame to medium-high and add the mixed paste with spoon in circular motion.

  4. 4

    Slowly add all the mixed paste to the oil and turn the heat to medium. Let it fry for 5-7 minutes till they become crispy.

  5. 5

    Onion bhajia is ready. Take out the bhajia on a kitchen paper to drain the extra oil. Sprinkle black salt and serve with steaming chai.
