Ingredients

  • 1plantain Raw cooking
  • 10water skinned , chopped and soaked in for minutes
  • 1/2 cupcoconut grated
  • 2 clovesgarlic Crushed
  • 1green chillies -
  • 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder -
  • to tasteSalt
  • a fewWater -  (for steam to cook the veggie)  spoons
  • For the seasoning -
  • 2 tablespoonscoconut oil -
  • 1 teaspoonmustard seeds -
  • 3shallot Sliced -
  • 2chilly dry red -
  • 1 sprigCurry leaves -
  • 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds -

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix the skinned, chopped, soaked in water plantain, grated coconut, turmeric, salt, garlic, chillies into a pan and cook till plantain is tender. Make sure it doesn't burn, by stirring occasionally.

  2. 2

    Once cooked, do the seasoning (tadka).

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a small pan, splutter the mustard seeds in it. Add the cumin seeds. Add the sliced shallots, broken red dry chillies and curry leaves. Let the shallots turn light brown.

  4. 4

    Remove from flame and add it to the main dish.
