Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupmoong dal yellow
  • 1tomato finely chopped big
  • 1 cupmethi finely chopped
  • 2 clovesgarlic (optional)
  • 1 tspJeera
  • 1/2 tspchilly red powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 11/2 tspssalt
  • 2 cupswater
  • 1 tbspghee
  • brown rice For
  • 1 cupbrown rice soaked sona masuri
  • 3 cupswater

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak moong dal for 10 mins

  2. 2

    In a pressure cooker, heat ghee, add Jeera, crushed garlic, tomatoes, spices except salt and sautee it for few mins

  3. 3

    Add methi and mix well. Remove the water from dal and add in the cooker. Add water and salt

  4. 4

    Pressure cook for 5 mins (1 whistle at medium flame)

  5. 5

    Soak Rice for 30 mins. Pressure cook with water for 15-20 mins at medium flame.
