Fried Rice with Stink Bean (NASI GORENG PETE)

Fried rice in Indonesia and in other countries can have its own variations, depending on the area of origin and ingredients or materials used. This variation is usually influenced by food that is commonly used by local communities and herb seasoning influenced by neighboring countries, foreign ethnic or cultural influences that innate coming to the country.
The fried rice was also included in street food, so easily found everywhere. Today there are instant fried rice (frozen) sold in some supermarkets/markets, and buyers stay warm it using the microwave only.
One variant of fried rice in Indonesia is "Fried Rice with Pete (STINK BEAN)". Using pete as a mix-in, so that the group favored a pete because of its aroma. For those who do not know, a pete/petai is a type of bean that has a Latin name Parkia Speciosa and delicious if made in a fried rice mixture. Pete fried rice is usually combined liver & chicken gizzard or shrimp. With savory seasoning spicy, fried rice pete guaranteed to be addictive. Although makes the mouth smell bad, crisp flavor of pete snack still preferred.
But…do not be frightened once seeing the word "pete". In addition to the typical smell, pete also contains a very good nutrition. Because pete has 3 elements of natural sugars such as sucrose, fructose, and glucose. Because the sugar content is high enough, the pete is believed to increase your power. Moreover, pete is also enriched with vitamin B and combined with fiber.

Saute ground spices and chopped onion until fragrant.

Put shrimp and liver-gizzard, cook until it changes color and is cooked.

Add rice, eggs and pete. Stir until well blended.

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper and flavoring. Stir again until all ingredients are well blended and cooked.

Put the fried rice on a plate and sprinkle with green onion.

Serve with complementary garnishes (crackers, cabbage, pickled cucumbers)
