This isnt a recipe AT ALL. This is just an idea that you guys can follow.
Steamboat is a way of cooking that is very deeply rooted into the culture of chinese. As an asian, steamboat is very essential and personally, i have it at least 4 times a year.
A steamboat is just like a barbecue, just minus the hassle of coals and burnt food.
The main jizz of steamboat is that 1 or 2 pot of stock are placed in "hotpots" (you can just use a wide skillet with high sides and an induction) and there are food that everyone can just pick and cook straight away.
You can put ANYTHING into steamboats. The budget can seriously range from $5 all the way to $20 a person, depending on what type of food you choose.
Most importantly, the food you choose have to be able to cook really quickly. Here's what i usually have!

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Things to take note of:
    1. Your water should be at a constant boil or simmer
    2. Ensure that you do not leave anything in the pot for too long, if not it will overcook and become though. Thats why most of the food i choose have lots of fat in it so that it will not get tough too fast.
    3. Have a pot in your kitchen with lots of stock ready so that at any point that your soup gets too little, you can go back to the kitchen and pour the soup right in!
    4. I just use normal stock cubes for the broth
    5. It is important to dilute your stock a bit more because while it boils in your pot, the soup will evaporate and the flavors will start getting concentrated.
    6. Make sure everyone has a personal ladle to that there wont be any saliva from anyone getting mixed in. Hygiene is important!

  2. 2

    Ways to enjoy:
Usually i'll have it with rice, and i'll make sure that i drink the broth as its flavorful.
