For those Sunday mornings when you wake up craving churros... Making them at home is quick and easy!
Steps
- 1
Heat the water in the microwave for a few minutes until it boils.
- 2
Pour the hot water into a bowl with the flour and salt, and mix well until there are no lumps.
- 3
Place the dough in a churro maker or a cookie press fitted with a star-shaped tip (it must be a star tip, otherwise the dough will puff up while frying and the churro can literally burst). Pipe the churros onto a sheet of parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- 4
Pour plenty of oil for frying into a deep skillet. When the oil is very hot, carefully add the churros. Fry until golden on both sides. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. If desired, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, or cocoa powder.
