Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken

You may notice a theme in 2 of my last 3 recipes. I love BBQ. I will put it on anything and everything. People may like ketchup/catsup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc on their fries, but I prefer BBQ sauce. To me it is so much better. A juicy cheeseburger? BBQ Sauce.

Ice cream? Chocolate syrup. Even I have limits to what I put BBQ sauce on.

With this recipe, it is all about taking a chance. After I made the ribs, I thought to myself, why not do this with chicken? My wife said, "Yes please." We took the plunge.

Needless to say, we loved it. 99% of the recipes that I have posted, I love. Only one of the recipes, I was eh with, but others loved it. So I posted it. I will let you decide which one it is.

Back to the recipe. I have digressed a lot, my ADD is in full effect. :-) Anyway, I love this recipe. What is not to love? Tender, moist, chicken with BBQ sauce. It is super simple and super delicious. Enjoy with whatever you want. I love cornbread muffins and string beans, so I ate it with that.

You can keep the skin on or take it off. We like it skinless, so we took it off ourselves. Not hard to do at all. If I can do it, then anyone can. This recipe calls for bone in chicken thighs, but you can use any part that you prefer.

Enjoy!

Steps

8 Hours
  1. 1

Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray. Or use a slow cooker liner.

  2. 2

Add the pepper to the chicken, on both sides. Pat it into the chicken.

  3. 3

Place the chicken into the slow cooker. It is best to make one layer of the chicken. It will cook fully and every piece of the chicken will be evenly coated with the BBQ Sauce.

  4. 4

Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken. Try to spread it out evenly.

  5. 5

Cook on High for 4 Hours or Low for 8 Hours. I recommend the 8 hours, but that is my preference.

  6. 6

    Enjoy!

Since I was a kid, I remember sitting in the kitchen to watch and/or help my parents. As I grew up, I decided to try their recipes and experiment with different recipes. Some were very good and I re-make them all of the time. Others? Yeah, I never tried them again. All of the recipes that I post are the very good ones. Also, while growing up, my pops suffered from high blood pressure, so my mom stopped adding sodium. Since that is how I was raised, all of the dishes that I post do not have any extra sodium added to it. A lot of friends and family who try my recipes, either do not notice nor miss it. But in no way am I saying not to add salt if you use my recipes. If you want to add it, then go for it.In closing, I hope that you enjoy my recipes. If you use any, then please post pictures. Enjoy!
