#Bandhan We call it Upaje usually made using broken rice but I had used basmati rice. One of my all time favourites and which always makes me love my mama more and more.

#Bandhan We call it Upaje usually made using broken rice but I had used basmati rice. One of my all time favourites and which always makes me love my mama more and more.
Steps

Wash and soak rice and dal for 2 hours

Also soak peanuts and coconut for 2 hours.

Now in a pressure cooker heat ghee add heeng, curry leaves, green chillies and onions.

Sautee till onions get golden brown

Now add turmeric, coriander powder and rice and dal.

Add soaked peanuts and coconut.

Sautee it for 5 minutes. Boil water on other side.

Now Add the boiling water

Add salt, sugar and lemon juice.

And pressure cook it. take almost 4 whistles.

Now Remove it from flame, allow the cooker to cool.

Serve this hot khichadi with loads of ghee. garnish it with some coriander and coconut. and just eat it.!
