Chop all 5 onions then and place them into a sufuria add oil then cook till golden brown

Add already blended or grated tomatoes and some garlic and ginger into the sufuria with the onions then stir till you make a paste.

Add the pilau masala and all spices of your choice.

Wash the meat then add it to the sufuria then cook the meat for 10-15minutes

Wash the rice well the add it to the sufuria with the meat the stir well till everything is well mixed

Add water just enough to cover the rice in the sufuria. Make sure you do not drown the rice in water.

Wait for the water to dry up in the sufuria then lower the heat if you are using a gas cooker but if you are using a jiko remove some of the makaa so as to prevent it from burning then cover it and place the hot makaa you removed on the cover /lid of the sufuria

Cook for 20-25 minutes

Keep checking because some types of rice cook faster than others.

Check if well done then serve with kachimbari or a stew of your choice.
