Fiddlehead ferns also called Kasrod are young, tender, tightly furled new growth shoots of fern family plant, usually found in upper Himachal and Uttrakhand called Lingdu. A very Healthy and tasty dish.

Fiddlehead ferns also called Kasrod are young, tender, tightly furled new growth shoots of fern family plant, usually found in upper Himachal and Uttrakhand called Lingdu. A very Healthy and tasty dish.
Steps

Wash kasrod, shaved them gently and cut into small pieces. Then boil it for 5 minutes, drain them and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add hing and cumin seeds when they crackle add onion and ginger garlic paste and sauté till golden brown.

Add green chili, chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and cook for 2 minutes. Now add Kasrod and mix well.

Add salt and curd and cook it for another 5 minutes. Serve hot with chapati or prantha.
