Grind the moong dal in a grinder to a fine powder.

Add 3/4 cup sugar, equal water in a pan and boil stirring for 3-4 minutes, add cardamom powder and keep aside

Now heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add the moong dal powder and cook on low flame till the raw smell disappears and it turns light brown.

Add 1 cup milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps, add the sugar syrup and cook till the halwa leaves the edges of pan. Garnish with pistachios and serve hot.
