Ingredients

  • 1 lbRound steak cut in small cubes
  • 2 tbspShortening or vegetable oil
  • 2 tbspFlour
  • 1 smallOnion, chopped
  • 2 cloveGarlic , minced
  • 1 cupChopped, canned or fresh Green Chile
  • 3 cupWater
  • 1salt to taste

Steps

  1. 1

    place meat in sauce pan with flour, fry in hot shortening until brown.

  2. 2

    Add onion, garlic, chile and water. salt to taste. Simmer for thirty minutes. if to dry add water.

  3. 3

    Canned or fresh tomatoes may be used instead of water for a different taste.

  4. 4

    ground or cubed, other meats or poultry can also be used. No meat, tofu, or vegetables can be used for a vegetarian sauce
