This is a great, quick recipe that combines sauce and pesto. Not many Italian Sausage recipes out there so you have to get creative. Trust me this will ens up in your comfort food fallback menu.

This is a great, quick recipe that combines sauce and pesto. Not many Italian Sausage recipes out there so you have to get creative. Trust me this will ens up in your comfort food fallback menu.
Cooking Instructions

Slice up all sausage links and in frying pan, brown on all sides.

Drain oil from pan. Add chopped onion and green pepper and saute till onion is opaque and soft.

Add garlic and saute for an additional minute (too long makes the taste bitter).

Add the tomatoes and simmer for approximately 10-15 minutes until sauce starts to thicken. Season with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile cook pasta of choice according to package directions.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the parmesan, Basil, parsley and EVOO. Mix till well combined.

Once pasta is done and drained, pour into mixing bowl with the cheese mixture. Add the sausage mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated well. Serve. Top with additional parmesean if desired.
