Cooking Instructions
- 1
Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, & salt.
- 2
Crush dry cereal with rolling pin. Cereal is your choice - I used Honey Bunches of Oats. Other ideas can be corn flakes, cinnamon toast crunch, etc. Crush cereal a little bit, you want some chunks so cereal is discernible after baking.
- 3
Dip bread in egg mixture. Make sure it's well soaked. Then, roll in dry cereal. Press cereal into each slice.
- 4
Throw in freezer to firm up, about an hour.
- 5
Heat oven to 425°.
- 6
Bake 10 min & flip pieces over. Bake another 10 min or so.
- 7
Serve with syrup or go fancy with fresh fruit & whipped topping.

The french toast at family restaurants are so good! The people who work there told me they use danish bread.I tried an easy version with butter rolls and it was a big success! The caramelized taste is so crispy and delicious!Finish frying the bread after creating the granulated sugar caramelized coating. Butter rolls are already kind of sweet, so the batter doesn't have any sugar. If you use a baguette or another kind of bread, please adjust the sweetness to taste. Recipe by SYNDY cookpad.japan -

Crispy and Juicy French Toast Crispy and Juicy French Toast
Whenever I ate French toast at a restaurant, it was either too hard or too soggy.I created the perfect recipe for a French toast that's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside!I always use sliced bread cut into 8 slices (1.5cm thick slices). The result is a superb taste, with bread that's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! If the bread is too thick, it tends to become too soggy. For the photos, I used rye bread cut into 6 slices (2cm thick slices), since it has a texture similar to the 8 slice loaf. For 3 slices worth. Recipe by Chococo@Tokyo cookpad.japan -

It's really good if you use bread that has gone a little stale. Kids will gobble this up if you make it for their breakfast.Keep an eye on the toast at all times so as not to let it burn. At medium heat, cook the french toast while flipping frequently. Recipe by Nacchi sencho cookpad.japan -

I was scrounging around and found a bag of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Someone left a corner worth in the bag. Not enough to really have a bowl of cereal, but too much to throw away. I also had some cinnamon raisin bread, so I figured why not? Karl -

I came up with this recipe by completely infusing the bread with the egg mixture, then slowly frying it until it's entirely cooked through.4-slice bread (3-cm thick slices) give a fluffy and delicious finish. They burn easily, so fry over low heat. Be sure to cover the pan with a lid. The time it takes to cook will vary depending on the thickness of the bread. I used thick sliced (3 cm) bread.
