Fluffy French Toast

I came up with this recipe by completely infusing the bread with the egg mixture, then slowly frying it until it's entirely cooked through.

4-slice bread (3-cm thick slices) give a fluffy and delicious finish.
They burn easily, so fry over low heat. Be sure to cover the pan with a lid.
The time it takes to cook will vary depending on the thickness of the bread. I used thick sliced (3 cm) bread. Recipe by FarmersK

  1. 2Sliced bread (3-2.4 cm thick)
  2. 1 tbspButter (or margarine)
  3. A
  4. 150 mlMilk
  5. 2Eggs
  6. 2 tbspSugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Combine A ingredients with a cutting motion, then soak the sliced bread in the egg mixture for 8 hours. (Let it sit in the refrigerator.)

  2. 2

I soak them overnight for breakfast the next morning. This much egg mixture gets magically soaked up by morning.

  3. 3

The bread is completely infused with the egg mixture. Turn the bread over from time to time. The next step is to fry.

  4. 4

Heat the butter in a frying pan, then slowly fry both sides of the bread for about 20 minutes over low heat until the surfaces are crisp.

  5. 5

Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar, or drizzle with honey or maple syrup before serving.

  6. 6

This recipe is also delicious made with baguettes.
