How to Cook Long Grain Rice - Brazilian-Style! How to Cook Long Grain Rice - Brazilian-Style!
This recipe was in a Brazilian cooking magazine which had a "cooking 101" article for the girls who don't know anything about cooking.Eat this rice with Brazilian dishes like feijão, feijoada, and moqueca or any other dish such as Thai curry. The water evaporates at different speeds depending on the pot that you are using, so please adjust the amount of water or the heat while checking. There's an old Japanese saying that goes "don’t open the lid even if your baby is crying with hunger", but don't worry about that this time, opening the lid is no problem! Caribbean Style Rice Caribbean Style Rice
I came up with this recipe trying to find a side to eat with Jerk Chicken. My family doesn't care for the kidney beans or coconut milk that most traditional Caribbean rice dishes are made with so we tried something different. It came out great! Super flavourful! Angie -
Portuguese Rice Portuguese Rice
Every summer, my parents would take all of us up to Cape Cod for a few weeks. I love the food up there. Between all of the different fresh fish and the great Portuguese dishes, I am in heaven. One of my favorite places to eat is John's Foot Long in Provincetown.I am allergic to shellfish so I have never had it, but I heard that their lobster roll is one of the best. Judging by all of their other dishes, I would not doubt that. My favorite dish of theirs is their Portuguese Rice. I have been trying to find a similar recipe to theirs, but it is impossible. Along the way, I have combined a few recipes that I have found and came up with one that I like a lot.It is nothing similar to John's in taste, but it is still very, very good. Definitely worth the try. #mycookbookEnjoy! J.A.B. -
