Nan's Reuben Sandwich Nan's Reuben Sandwich
Hands down my all-time favorite sandwich; and no restaurant version I've ever tried has even come close. One reason it's the best is because I only use Boar's Head brand kraut and corned beef or pastrami which is, hands-down, the very best. Another important factor is draining the kraut very well and warming it, and the meat, before building and grilling the sandwich. A traditional Reuben uses a red dressing (Russian or Thousand Island), but I think it's much better with brown mustard.Personally, I prefer making it with corned beef, but our grocery is sometimes out of it; and, honestly, when I use pastrami instead, there's very little difference in the deliciousness. If using the fattier pastrami, be sure to trim away any fat first. My two housemates don't like sauerkraut (crazy), so I leave it off theirs.#GoldenApron23 Maggie Conlon -
Sandwiches Sandwiches
This is a sandwich my friend has been enjoying since childhood. She realized, she hadn't had it as an adult. When she told me about this, I was also rather surprised and so I tried to make it. My family loves it, too, so with her permission, I uploaded this recipe.I recommend thinly spreading the blueberry jam. Recipe by Donpintan cookpad.japan -
Grilled Reuben Sandwich Grilled Reuben Sandwich
I made this easy "cheat" reuben sandwich with leftover meat, cheese, & bread from my #reubencasserolebake but I didnt have any leftover #russiandressing or sauerkraut. I did however, have a jar of "Traditional Polish Salad" which is basically sauerkraut with the addition of carrot, red pepper, & onion. I also used a handy "Burger King, Zesty Sauce" container in place of a more traditional reuben sauce. Further, I just happened to have both sliced & shredded swiss cheese handy as I had recently used them in a casserole. However, one or the other would also work just fine.👌 Chef Mommy Nessa -
Pocket Sandwiches Pocket Sandwiches
they‘re quick and easy to make, and they make boring sandwiches cool to bring anywhere. kids can help make the pockets and choose the fillings, its really simple! also, it‘s great for messy fillings like egg mayo or drippy ones like jam, cause the pockets keep them in. u can microwave them to warm them up too :) diyartist39 -
