After getting married when I entered my inlaws family I got to know their food habbit. They live the aunthentic Odia dish dalma a lot which I hate most. But I have to eat and love the dish. Then and there my love story begins with dalma. Dalma, a lentil based vegetables soupy dish with a little ghee or oil. Very tasty and very healthy..

In a pressure cooker add 1 cup tuar dal wash and add water, salt to taste and haldi and keep on gas and let it boil.

When it start boiling slow the gas. In the meantime cut 1 brinjal, 3 long beans, 1 small potatoes, 1 parwal, a small piece pumpkin and 2 small arbi in cubes. Medium size. Now increase the flame and add cut vegetables and add whole tomato and cover the cooker and cook for a Whistle Now let it cool down.

In the meantime in another Kadai add Cumin and red chilli and roast. Then make a coarse Powder.

In another kadai add ghee 1 1/2tbsp of ghee, broken red chilies to it, then chopped ginger and saute up to brown. Then add boiled tomato from the pressure cooker and cook it up to oil separates. Then add boiled lentils and vegetables and allow it to boil.

Then add roasted chilli and Cumin Powder and grated coconut.
