Roasted Garlic

I grew a ton of basil and heard that roasting garlic added a nice touch to homemade pesto. So I roasted me first garlic and wanted to share how easy it is. Enjoy!

I grew a ton of basil and heard that roasting garlic added a nice touch to homemade pesto. So I roasted me first garlic and wanted to share how easy it is. Enjoy!
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- 2
Peel off the outer layers of the garlic but leave the skins on of the individual cloves so it doesn't fall apart.
- 3
Cut a 1/4 inch off the top of the garlic cloves so you expose each individual clove.
- 4
Rest your garlic in tin foil and in a muffin pan or cookie sheet, leaving enough to cover it. Then drizzle olive oil over the tops of the exposed heads of the garlic and rub it in. Wrap up your garlic.
- 5
Bake your garlic for about 30 minutes. It should come out soft and will make your home smell great!
- 6
Let the garlic cool then pop out the garlic from each clove with your fingers or a small utensil and enjoy!
