Ingredients

  • For the covering
  • 150 gmswhole wheat Atta
  • 150 gmsmaida
  • 2 tspcold butter
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • Halfcup milk
  • Halfcup water
  • For the filling
  • 2red apples
  • 100 gmsseedless dates
  • 100 gmsfigs
  • 50 gmsdesiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup mixed dry fruit
  • 2 tspchar magaz
  • 100 gmsmilk chocolate bar
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1 tspghee

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Mix together Atta, maida, salt and cold ghee till crumbly. Add milk and water to make a tight dough.Keep it covered

    Roughly chop apples with skin, dates and figs. Take a non stick pan and add these chopped fruits and 1 cup milk and cook for 10 minutes till well blended

    When the apples, figs and dates are tender and completely dry, mash them with a hand blender or potato crusher.

    Put the pan back on the gas and add dessicated coconut, chopped dry fruits, char magaz and 1 tsp ghee. Cook for 2 minutes till completely dry.

    Cool the mixture. Roll out small rotis from the dough. Keep some apple filling in the centre. Grate some chocolate over it and cover the roti in the shape of a Karanji. Rub some water on the edges and press the edges using a mould or with the help of a fork.

    Bake these karanji in a pre heated oven at 200° for 18 to 20 minutes.

    Remove and serve immediately.
