Cut the tomatoes into large pieces. Beat the egg, and finely chop the green onion.

Prepare a pot with 1 2/3 cups (400 ml) of water and bring to a boil. Add the tomato pieces and cook for about 2 minutes. Add salt and seasoning. Stir briefly, then add the beaten egg and wait 30 seconds before stirring. Add ground pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then add sesame oil. Turn off the heat.

Tan hua tang (egg drop tomato soup) is ready to serve. Enjoy!
