Cooking Instructions
- 1
Put olive oil in skillet and heat up on LOW while forming the meatballs
- 2
In large bowl, add remaining ingredients. Mix by hand until everything is mixed well. HINT: for the moistened bread, I take 3 pieces at a time and run it under cold water for a few seconds, then gently squeeze out the excess water - then I break up very small pieces before adding to bowl.
- 3
Form meat into balls and add to skillet. Turn heat up to about medium.
- 4
Fry until browned on all sides.
- 5
When done, add meatballs to your favorite spaghetti sauce and simmer (covered) on low for 2 1/2 hours.
- 6
ENJOY!

Baked Italian Meatballs Baked Italian Meatballs
This is my "go to" recipe when I need meatballs. The recipe is large enough that I can divide the quantity in half and freeze some for another meal. I call these Italian because of the seasoning, but they are close enough to Polish because of all the garlic. My husband says these are the best!! Adam Janowski -

These are the meatballs that my mom used to make as we were growing up. She mainly used the bread as filler, to help feed six hungry kids and a husband.General rule of thumb, for every pound of ground meat, you use one slice of bread, and one egg. As for the spices, use what you like, how much you like. For the meat, I like to use a combination of ground beef and pork. I have yet to try this recipe with ground turkey, chicken, etc, but the recipe should still work for those as well.If you happen to have fresh oregano, basil, parsley, then feel free to use that. It adds an extra flavor punch! #mycookbookEnjoy! J.A.B. -
