In the 3 quart sauce pan, mix the chicken broth, chopped onions, sliced carrots, sliced celery, ground black pepper, crushed dried oregano, and bay leaf.

Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover the pot and let simmer 5 minutes.

Stir in the dried noodles and bring the broth back to a boil. Then, reduce the heat. Cover pot and let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes (or until the noodles and veggies are tender).

Remove and discard the bay leaf. Add chopped chicken (or turkey). Continue until meat is heated through. Serve and ladle with basil leaves.
