Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 3 quartSauce pan
  2. 4 cupChicken broth
  3. 1 cupChopped onions
  4. 1 cupSliced carrots
  5. 1 cupSliced celery
  6. 1 tspCrushed dried basil
  7. 1 tspCrushed dried oregano
  8. 1 tspGround black pepper
  9. 1Bay leaf
  10. 1 cupDried noodles
  11. 2 cupChopped cooked chicken

Steps

  1. 1

    In the 3 quart sauce pan, mix the chicken broth, chopped onions, sliced carrots, sliced celery, ground black pepper, crushed dried oregano, and bay leaf.

    Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover the pot and let simmer 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Stir in the dried noodles and bring the broth back to a boil. Then, reduce the heat. Cover pot and let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes (or until the noodles and veggies are tender).

  4. 4

    Remove and discard the bay leaf. Add chopped chicken (or turkey). Continue until meat is heated through. Serve and ladle with basil leaves.
