Ingredients

  • 2 cupsHoney beans
  • 3large tatashe peppers, deseeded
  • 2medium onions
  • 5-10scotch bonnet chillies (depending on your heat tolerance)
  • 1/2 cupcrayfish
  • 1/2 cupvegetable oil
  • 1 cupcooked Prawns (optional)
  • Mackerel fish, flaked (optional)
  • 2 cupsfish stock
  • 3Hard boiled eggs (optional)
  • cubesSeasoning
  • Salt

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak your beans in water for 5 minutes. Drain the beans and rub between your palms to remove their outer skin.

  2. 2

    After peeling, blend your beans along with the tatashe, onions, crayfish, chillies. Use just enough water to allow the blades of your blender move freely.

  3. 3

    Transfer the beans puree to a bowl and add your fish stock, little by little till you reach your desired consistency. Add you Seasoning cubes, salt, and vegetable oil; Mix thoroughly.

  4. 4

    Add your prawns and flaked fish and combine. Divide you batter into your desired containers, add slices of hard boiled eggs to each container and cover. Place the containers in a large pot and add hot water to the pot.

  5. 5

    Cook for 45minutes to an hour.
