I always used to wonder that though in a restaurant the paneer butter masala n shahi paneer almost look alike ...then why two names have been kept for these dishes ..Actually the original shahi paneer has lost its originality ..it used to b white in colour ..prepared only on onion cashew gravy without the addition of tomatoes ..
Now here I hv made paneer butter masala using #NoOnions only tomatoes cashews n butter along wth garlic ginger paste ..

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 250 gcottage cheese
  2. 4-5ripened red tomatoes
  3. 20 gcashews soaked in warm water
  4. 50 gfresh cream..You can add full cream milk also..
  5. 20 gkasoori methi
  6. 1 tspKashmiri powder or degi mirch
  7. 50 gbutter of your choice..
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. 1bay leaf
  10. 2Badi elaichi
  11. 1 inchfresh ginger minced
  12. 4-5garlic pods..minced
  13. 1 stickcinnamon

Steps

    Blend tomatoes and presoaked cashews in a blender into fine paste..You can add ginger garlic also at this stage too

  2. 2

    In a wok heat the required amount of butter

  3. 3

    Add bay leaves cinnamon n cardamom n allow it to infuse in aroma in the butter.

    Now add tomato paste and sauce for 5 minutes

  5. 5

    Add all the spices

  6. 6

    Add cream n stir it constantly.

  7. 7

    Add salt n stir it...now add paneer cubes and allow it to simmer for sometimes..

    You can adjust the consistency by adding little water...

  9. 9

    It yummy paneer butter masala is ready now

  10. 10

    Enjoy wth naan paranthas or plain rice
