Ingredients

12 servings
  1. 4 cupwater
  2. 1 tspcelery salt
  3. 1/2 tspsalt
  4. 29 ozcrushed tomatoes
  5. 1 1/2 tspground turmeric powder
  6. 1annatto powder
  7. 1 tspground black pepper
  8. 2 cupbroken jasmine rice
  9. 1 1/2 tbspground cumin
  10. 1 tspsweet basil
  11. 1 stickmargarine

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the margarine in a pot add rice fry rice till it turns white

  2. 2

    Add water and tomatoes

  3. 3

    Add spices

  4. 4

    Cook stirring often

  5. 5

    When the rice is erupting put cover on it turn off heat let rest undisturbed for 7 minutes
