Awama are Middle Eastern fried dough balls stuffed with cream, crispy on the outside and dipped in syrup. Enjoy!
Steps

Add all the dough ingredients to a large, dry bowl and knead until you get a smooth, cohesive dough.

Let the dough rise for 30 minutes.

Roll out the dough and cut it into small circles.

Place a portion of cream filling on each circle.

Seal the circles into small balls and place them on a plate dusted with flour.

Fry the dough balls in plenty of oil until they just start to turn color (half-fried), then remove them onto paper towels.

Dip them in the cold sugar syrup.

Fry the dough balls again until they turn golden brown.

Serve and drizzle with a little more syrup.
