Ingredients

  1. cake batter
  2. 2eggs, room temp
  3. 1 cupbuttermilk
  4. 1 1/2 cupvegetable oil
  5. 2bottles red food coloring
  6. 1 1/2 cupsugar
  7. 1 tbspcocoa powder
  8. 1 tspvinegar
  9. 1 tspbaking soda
  10. 1 pinchsalt
  11. 2 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
  12. 1 tspvanilla extract
  13. 1 cupchopped pecans, fine
  14. cream cheese frosting
  15. 18oz cream cheese
  16. 1 stickunsalted butter
  17. 16 ozpowdered sugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla, vegetable oil, buttermilk, red food coloring til combined.

  2. 2

    Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa, and all purpose flour

    Spray cake pans with non stick spray..or coat can pans with butter and flour being careful to get rid of extra flour from pan

  4. 4

    Pour batter into pans. Bake 350° for 20 mins.

  5. 5

    For icing mix cream cheese, butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and pecans. Ice cake and allow frosting to set in the refrigerator!
