Turkey a la King

This turkey a la King is made from leftover Thanksgiving turkey and the leftover turkey gravy. It produces an incredibly flavorful a la King with a rich but lighter sauce because there is less cream. Straying from the traditional I added jalapeños and left out the peas since my husband will not eat them!

Steps
- 1
In a saucepan melt the butter and add the shallots, mushrooms, celery, carrots and jalapeño. Season with salt and pepper and cook 5-10 minutes. I like my vegetables to have a little firmness so I do not cook until completely soft.
- 2
Add flour and cook 2 minutes.
- 3
Add broth and heat.
- 4
Add gravy and thyme and pearl onions, and bring to a boil.
- 5
Add sriracha, and lemon, and cook until desired thickness. Taste and add additional seasoning if needed.
- 6
Add turkey and heat through. Garnish with green onions and parsley
- 7
Serve over puff pastry shells, toast, rice or mashed potatoes.
