Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupFOR DOUGH - Atta/ wheat flour -
  2. Besan/ gram flour - 1/2 cup
  3. 2 tablespoonsOil/ tel -
  4. to tasteSalt/ namak
  5. 1/4 cupFOR STUFFING - Chopped capsicum/ simla mirch -
  6. 1/4 cupChopped tomato/ tamatar -
  7. 1 tablespoonChopped ginger/ adarak and chilli/ hari mirch -
  8. 1/2 cupCrushed peas/ matar -
  9. 1/2 cupMashes boiled potatoes -
  10. Red chilli powder, coriander powder,
  11. to tasteamchur powder, garam masala and salt/ namak according
  12. 1/2 teaspoonTurmeric/ haldi -
  13. 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds/ jeera -
  14. 1 tablespoonGhee -
  15. Curd, meethi chutney, green chutney, roasted cumin powder
  16. 2 tablespoonsChopped coriander leaves/ dhaniya patta -
  17. 2 tablespoonsOil/ tel -

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all ingredients of dough and make a dough like roti. Leave the dough for 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan add cumin seeds. When seeds crackle, add turmeric, red chilli powder and coriander powder.

  3. 3

    Now add all vegetables and remaining spices and mix well. Saute 5-6 minutes.

  4. 4

    Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and make flat balls. Roll all bolls using rolling pin making thick rotis.

  5. 5

    Put 1 tablespoon of stuffing at the center of the roti and cover all the sides and make stuffed balls from them.

  6. 6

    Put all balls on a greased baking tray and bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C. for 20-25 minutes or until golden in colour. When baati is baked completely, spread ghee on all batis.

  7. 7

    Pour curd, meethi and green chutney according to taste on batis. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and roasted cumin powder.

  8. 8

    Mouth watering stuffed baked bati chaat is ready to be served.
