Place the chopped onions in a bowl, sprinkle with some salt, and set aside for a while.

In a large bowl, add the ground beef and chopped parsley. Mix well.

Go back to the salted onions, squeeze out the juice, and add only the onion juice to the meat mixture. Mix well.

Soak the hoagie roll in water, then squeeze out the excess water and add the bread to the meat mixture. Mix thoroughly.

Add the honey and baking soda, then season with salt, black pepper, and the kofta spice mix. Mix everything together well.

Shape the mixture into sausage-like logs and arrange them in a greased baking dish. Add 1/4 cup water (about 60 ml), then bake in the oven until cooked through.

Heat a piece of charcoal on the stove, place it in a piece of foil with a little oil, and cover the dish to infuse a smoky flavor.
