Brown hamburger and spoon off excess fat.

Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cook noodles in salt water until tender. Drain and rinse.

Combine remaining ingredients except mozzarella cheese.

Layer noodles, ricotta/ cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese, hamburger mixture in 3 layers.
If freezing: stop here and wrap in tin foil. When ready to cook, thaw and follow below cooking time.
Can also refrigerate and cook later. - 6
Bake at 375° for 30 minutes. If frozen or refrigerated: 45-55min Let stand for 10 minutes prior to cutting.
