Ingredients

  1. 10 ozTuna (drained)
  2. 1Avacado
  3. 1/3 cupGreen pepper (finely chopped)
  4. 1/3 cupRed onion (finely chopped)
  5. 1/4 cupCilantro (chopped)
  6. 1 tbspTabasco Green Pepper Sauce
  7. 1/2 tspGarlic seasoning (powder, Mrs Dash, etc)
  8. 1/2 tspGround cumin
  9. Black pepper
  10. Salt (seasoned or regular)
  11. 1/2 tspLime juice
  12. Shredded cheese (Mexican blend, or cheddar)
  13. 4 sliceBread of your choice

    Drain all liquids from the tuna (any liquids left will make the bread soggy).

  2. 2

    Peel the avocado and place the pulp in a medium sized mixing bowl. Mash until the lumps are mostly worked out.

  3. 3

    Chop the green peppers, onions, and cilantro. Add to mixing bowl.

  4. 4

    Add the tuna to the bowl, as well as the Tabasco sauce, lime juice, and seasonings.

  5. 5

    Mix until the ingredients are distributed evenly. Add more of any if the ingredients if it doesn't have the kick you want.

  6. 6

    Spread the mixture over the 4 slices of bread, and add the shredded cheese to the top.

  7. 7

    Broil in oven/toaster oven for 5-10 minutes. All ovens cook differently, so keep an eye in it so it doesn't burn!

    Plate your melts and serve! Great with chips and salsa on the side!

    Alternatively: The spread makes for a great chip dip as well! Just forego the bread and cheese!
