Cook sausage in a dutch oven for about 6 to 8 minutes or until nicely browned.

Add onions and cook for about 5 minutes until they get soft with a little color on them.

Add 2 pieces of aluminum foil, about18 inches long, to cooker as a liner.

Spray the liner with cooking spray.

Add garlic, oregano, salt and pepper to the sausage mixture and cook for about 1 minute until you smell the garlic.

Add uncooked ziti and toss with the fat for about 4 minutes.

Add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce to the mixture and stir.

Add the complete mixture to a slow cooker and set for 3 hours on low. Check in about 2 hours for doneness.

Remove foil collars and stir all together.

Add the cheeses and let them melt, with the lid on, for about 20 minutes. Just let the residual heat do the work.

Add a final garnish of fresh shredded basil.
