Peel, core and dice apples

Sift flour, ground cinnamon and salt into a large mixing bowl

Stir in sugars, sultanas, eggs, melted butter, milk, then apples

Mix until smooth ( add more milk if needed) and pour into cake pan, i use a large rectangular baking dish, but a 20cm springform round tin is great too, you will just need to cook it longer as it will be a deeper cake

Cook in moderate oven 180 - 200 for 45mins - 1 hour if using large rectangular baking dish or 1 & 1/2 hours if using 20cm round springform pan

Cooked when skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave to cool in tin, then dust with sifted icing sugar
