Firstly, wash dal and rice very well, and soak it in water for 15 minutes.

In blender take ginger, green chilli and coriander. Blend it into a smooth paste.

Heat oil or ghee in pressure cooker.

Add jeera, heeng and whole spices, saute for few seconds.

Then add haldi and red chilli powder, ginger chilli paste and chopped tomato, mix well.

Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Then add moong dal and rice, mix nicely.

Add 2 1/2 cups water and salt, cover with a lid and cook till 2-3 whistles. And your yummy healthy moong dal khichdi is ready
