Ingredients

  • 19 inch double pie crust pastry
  • 1/2 cupbutter
  • 3 tbspflour
  • 1/4 cupwater
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/4 tspcinnamon
  • 8apples - peeled, cored, and diced

Steps

  1. 1

    melt butter in saucepan

  2. 2

    stir in flower. add water and sugars; bring to boil

  3. 3

    reduce temperature and simmer

  4. 4

    place bottom crust in pie pan. fill with apples, and cover with crust lattice

  5. 5

    pour sugar liquid and cinnamon over crust

  6. 6

    bake 15 mins at 425°F. reduce to 350°F for 40 minutes
