Ingredients

  • For making dhokla mixture:
  • 1 cupGram flour
  • 4 tspFresh methi leaves
  • 1Lemon juice medium size
  • 1/2 inchGinger piece (grated)
  • 1 tspSugar
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1 tspEno fruit salt
  • 3/4 cupWater
  • For making tadka:
  • 2Red chilli
  • 1 tspOil
  • 1/2 tspBlack mustard seeds
  • 5-6Curry leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Take gram flour in any bowl and add little water a time.stir until all lumps get dissolved.The batter should not be too thick or thin in consistency.

    Add fresh methi,ginger,salt, and 1 tsp sugar in it.Also add lemon juice in the batter.keep it aside for 20 minutes so that batter become puffy.Mixture for dhokla is ready.

    For making dhokla,take 7- 8 inch diameter microwave safe bowl and grease it with some oil.

  4. 4

    After 10 minutes add eno fruit salt and mix really well.Batter seems to become puffy.

  5. 5

    Now pour the batter in greased microwave safe bowl,tap the bowl on surface gently so that the mixture gets even.

  6. 6

    Place it in microwave,set temperature to maximum for 3-4 minutes.

  7. 7

    Insert knife and check after 4 mintes if it is ready or not. Ur dhokla is ready.

  8. 8

    For making tadka,take oil in a pan and heat

  9. 9

    Add black mustard seeds,curry leaves and saute for few minutes.

  10. 10

    Now add chilli as well.

  11. 11

    Spread the tadka all over the dhokla and cut into small pieces and enjoy with chutney.
