Crispy Kothimbir vadi or coriander dal pakode or fritters are a must try snack as I have added a twist of yellow dal batter instead of gram flour to our very humble Maharashtrian snack called Kothimbir vadi
It is just perfect as a delectable starter with tea for any evening get together.

It is just perfect as a delectable starter with tea for any evening get together.

Combine the yellow moong dal, ginger and green chillies and blend in a mixer using a little water to make a smooth and thick paste

Wash the coriander leaves, chop and keep them in a mixing bowl.

Next add the dal batter, rice flour and salt and mix very well.

Meanwhile heat oil in a pan.

Now add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chillies, soda, garam masala and garlic paste.

Mix all ingredients well for a minute to get a lump free thick pakode like batter.

Now take spoonfuls of the prepared batter and shallow fry the coriander fritters in batches of 8-10 at a time till crisp and golden in colour.

Take out on absorbent paper.

Likewise make all the pakode or vadi

Serve it hot with mint coriander chutney or any sauce.
