Ingredients

2 hours 10 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupyellow moong dal soaked in water for 2 hours
  2. 2 cupschopped coriander leaves
  3. 1/2 cupwater or as required
  4. 1 tablespoonrice flour
  5. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1 teaspoongarlic paste
  8. 2green chillies
  9. 1/2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoongaram masala
  11. 1 pinchmeetha soda
  12. 1 cupOil for frying
  13. 1/2 teaspoonsalt or as per taste
  14. 1/2 teaspoonGaram masala

Steps

2 hours 10 minutes
  1. 1

    Combine the yellow moong dal, ginger and green chillies and blend in a mixer using a little water to make a smooth and thick paste

    Wash the coriander leaves, chop and keep them in a mixing bowl.

    Next add the dal batter, rice flour and salt and mix very well.

    Meanwhile heat oil in a pan.

    Now add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chillies, soda, garam masala and garlic paste.

    Mix all ingredients well for a minute to get a lump free thick pakode like batter.

    Now take spoonfuls of the prepared batter and shallow fry the coriander fritters in batches of 8-10 at a time till crisp and golden in colour.

    Take out on absorbent paper.

    Likewise make all the pakode or vadi

  10. 10

    Serve it hot with mint coriander chutney or any sauce.
