Old World Pasta Bake

I was bored one night and decided to quit playing Call of Duty. Stating into my bare cupboards and empty fridge I managed to make this .. It cost me less than $20 to make this for 6 people. please feel free to post your pics and ideas/critic about the recipe.. like I said it was left of ingredients and the sauce is a great gift once you get it too suit your taste. Also I don't own a blender, food processor, or food mill.. which is why it's named old world... because neither did they. Enjoy !

Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 325. In a large skillet brown ground beef using two table spoons of EVOO with pepper, bell pepper, onions, and finely minced garlic. Drain well.
- 2
Drain the liquid from the canned tomatoes. In a large pot bring tomatoes to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Stir every 10 - 15 minutes until tomatoes become pasty. (around 45m - 1 hour depending on gas or electric stove).
- 3
Once sauce has started to thicken up use a ladle or a steak tenderiser to further mash the tomatoes into a paste being careful to not damage the cookware. Add two tbsp of EVOO, sugar (to taste) along with garlic powder, onion powder, old bay, salt, and paprika (to taste) and stir.
- 4
Add the Beef (and the stuff with it) to the sauce. In a separate pot boil penne until fully cooked (al dente hardens in oven). Drain. At this time your sauce should be a flavorful tomato paste . Add Hienz Ketchup. Slowly stir water to the sauce until the desired texture is met. (the key is to not have to reduce it to a paste again So don't add too much ).
- 5
Coat penne pasta in remaining EVOO and add to the sauce. Stir in 1 cup of mozzarella cheese along with parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Fill a medium glass baking dish with the Pasta Bake. Cover entire top with remaining cheese.Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
