In large soup pot, melt butter.

Add onion and cook until soft.

Add potatoes and chicken broth, and bring to a simmer.

Stir in half & half and sour cream, heating through. Do not bring to boil.

Season with salt & pepper. Garnish and serve.

Garnish:
-Crisp bacon, crumbled
-Snipped chives or green onion
-Grated cheese - 7
We like extra potato, to thicken the soup.
