Ingredients

  1. 8-10Papad
  2. 4 tablespoonCurd/yogurt
  3. 1.1/2 tablespoonGram flour/besan
  4. 2 tablespoonOil/ghee
  5. 1 teaspoonGarlic,chopped or crushed
  6. 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
  7. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  8. 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  9. 1 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  10. 1 teaspoonCoriander powder
  11. Salt, as required
  12. 1/4 teaspoonAsafetida
  13. Coriander leaves for garnish
  14. as neededLemon juice
  15. Water, as required

Steps

  1. 1

    Roast or microwave the papads. I cook on tawa and apply some oil on it.

  2. 2

    In a bowl, add yogurt and water and whisk it nicely. Now, add gram flour, some salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and coriander powder.

  3. 3

    Mix all the ingredients nicely, and keep aside.

  4. 4

    Now, take a pan and add ghee or oil, and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafetida. Sauté it for a second and add garlic and sauté for another second.

  5. 5

    On the low flame, add the yogurt mixture in a pan and stir it constantly.

  6. 6

    Now, add some water and cook till the oil separates.

  7. 7

    Then, add papad pieces and mix well.

  8. 8

    Allow this to cook for 6 to 10 minutes, and add lemon juice.

  9. 9

    Garnish with coriander leaves.

  10. 10

    Remember to use little salt because papad is already very salty. Enjoy this yummy papad ki sabji or papad curry with chapatti.
